The Ireland Stand of the International Bazaar will be holding a Table Quiz on Thursday 6 May 2010 starting at 7.30 p.m. (Sharp). Doors open at 7.00 p.m.

The Table Quiz will be held in the Centre Culturel in Hollerich (rue Lavandier)

The Quiz is played by teams of six. Why not organise a team and reserve a table!! In this way you will avoid disappointment and facilitate the smooth running of the Quiz.

Due to unforeseen circumstances we have had to cancel the AGM that was planned for tonight.

Apologies for the short notice but we did not know until this afternoon that we would have to cancel.

Notice is hereby given that the Twenty-fifth Annual General Meeting of the Irish Club of Luxembourg will be held on Thursday 10th June 2010 at 7.30 pm in the meeting room at Oscar Wilde's Pub in The Grund, Luxembourg.

The draft agenda for the Annual General Meeting is as follows:

3. Secretary's Report
4. Statement of Accounts 2009/10
5. President's Address
6. Election of New Committee

8. Subscriptions 2010-2011 and 2011-2012
9. Any Other Business

At the AGM votes will be counted on the basis of paid-up members for the year 2010-2011 present with Family membership giving entitlement to a maximum of two votes.

In accordance with Section 8.3 of the statutes of the Irish Club of Luxembourg, proposals for resolution signed by at least 1/20th of the last available membership list must be included on the agenda of the AGM. Such proposals must reach the Secretary of the Irish Club not less than fourteen days before the date fixed for the AGM. The Secretary will include any proposals submitted in accordance with section 8.3 of the statutes.

The number of paid up members as at 31 March 2010 was 47. Therefore, the number of signatures required for proposals to the AGM is 3.

Subscriptions:

In accordance with the Law of 21 April 1928, subscriptions for the year 2010-2011 have been set as follows, subject to approval by the AGM.

Ordinary Member: €12.50
Family Member: €25.00
Student Member: €5.00

Student member is defined as a person in full time education who does not otherwise qualify for membership as in a Family membership.

The Luxembourg-Manx Society is holding the Tynwald Day 2010 celebrations at The Black Stuff on Monday 5 July from 18h00.

There will be a family BBQ with a TT theme (if you don't know what TT is then come along and find out). Everyone is welcome (Leathers Optional).

The Irish Club invites all members and their families to the Irish Club family BBQ at Kockelscheuer on Sunday 29 August 2010 @ 1.00 pm.

If you wish to come along please bring your food to be cooked and refreshments. The Irish club will provide the fire for you to cook your food.

This promises to be a good day out for all the family and you will get to meet other club members and get to know the rest of the Irish community in Luxembourg.
