The Irish Club of Luxembourg was founded in 1985 to provide a focus for Irish people and friends of Ireland to meet up and have fun.

The Club of Luxembourg has been in existence for 30 years (founded in 1985) and has been a focal point for Irish activities in the Grand Duchy, involving both Irish people and friends of Ireland. The club organises a number of activities annually, including:

  • Ski Trip to the Alps in Jan/Feb – this did not take place in 2017
  • St Patrick’s Day event – sometimes in the form of an informal dinner / party, in 2017 we attended 2 Irish comedy films
  • Relais pour la Vie, a 24-hour charity event at the Coque in Kirchberg, in aid of cancer research
  • Charity Ball – a black tie event in June for circa 100 people,  in aid of charities in Luxembourg and Ireland
  • Autumn Sponsored walk, sometimes along the Moselle valley
  • Outing to the British & Irish Film Season (BIFS)
  • Fundraising Table Quiz – this was held at Eirelux and raised circa €1,000
  • Children’s Christmas Party (normally for circa 25 children at the Blackstuff, with magician, Santa, etc.)
